FAQ and Responsibilities

Straight answers about edge cases and risk ownership.

Clear risk communication is part of the product. These are the most common practical questions users ask before trading.

What if the seller says they did not receive my payment?

A valid TLSN proof is the settlement evidence. If the proof verifies on-chain within timelock, escrow release is automatic regardless of subjective claims.

What if I cannot complete payment before timeout?

Escrow automatically returns to the maker after expiry. There is no manual extension path.

Can PayMoney freeze my account?

No. Smart Accounts are controlled by user keys and signer policy, not by a centralized custody operator.

What happens if I lose a device?

With a 2-of-3 setup, you can recover using the remaining signer plus backup. Without recovery configuration, lost keys can mean lost access.

Is this risk-free because it is trustless?

No. Trustless architecture removes some counterparty risk but does not remove user operational risk, smart contract risk, or payment rail errors.

Operational checklist

  • Verify payment method and recipient identifiers before sending fiat.
  • Configure multi-device or threshold signer recovery before storing funds.
  • Track escrow timer and submit proof early to avoid timeout risk.
